Highway and FEMA Related Projects
-
Royalton Hill Road – Road stabilization project has been completed. Please use caution as there are sections of the road near the Fox Stand Bridge that still need to be paved
-
Broad Brook Road – Start date is Monday, May 14th. The road will potentially be closed during the hours of 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. until the project is completed. Please use Plaisted Road as a detour. The Town is also pursuing options to upgrade two undersized culverts at the intersection of Maude Laura Lane and Urdstat Rd.
-
Gilman Road – ONE LANE – The town hopes to be able to relocate the section of the road that is reduced to one lane. The Selectboard anticipates acquiring land adjacent to the land slide prone area. FEMA has not obligated funds to this project to date. Negotiations are being made with the land owner to relocate the problematic section of road.
-
CLOSED – Lovejoy Road – The bridge abutment had significant scouring that will require a new abutment and increased span. Planned start of construction is estimated to begin in May 2012.
-
Carpenter Recreation Field – The reconstruction of the field has been completed. We are working on funding for the backstops, and scoreboards, as well as volunteers to assist with the construction of the dugouts. Please do not walk on the field as they have been seeded. The Royalton Recreation Commission has achieved a great deal on the fields through tremendous support from volunteers. Many thanks to the countless individuals who made this possible.
-
Foxstand Bridge (Bridge #30 approach) – engineering design is being completed on the retaining wall. This project is scheduled to go out to bid by the end of May.
-
Bridge Street Bridge (Bridge #31 approach) – engineering design for additional rip-rap on the upstream abutment. Final work to be completed by the end of May.
-
Perley Farm Road – The reconstruction/bank stabilization engineering plans are expected to be presented to the Selectboard by the end of June. No estimate on the construction start date. The project is expected to be completed by the end of October.
