Highway and FEMA Related Projects
- Royalton Hill Road – Road stabilization project has been completed. Please use caution as there are sections of the road near the Fox Stand Bridge that still need to be paved
- Broad Brook Road – Road project has been stopped for the winter. Work will resuem when weather permits in the spring. The Town is pursuing options to upgrade two undersized culverts at the intersection of Maude Laura Lane and Urdstat Rd.
- CLOSED – North Windsor Street – From the Railroad crossing to the Bridge Street bridge. The Town has moved forward with the assistance of Dubois and King, Inc. and has awarded the contract to G. W. Tatro Construction. Reconstruction of this section of road has begun. Estimated date of completion is December 30th.
- Gilman Road – The town hopes to be able to relocate the section of the road that is reduced to one lane. The Selectboard anticipates acquiring land adjacent to the land slide prone area. FEMA has not obligated funds to this project to date. Negotiations are being made with the land owner to relocate the problematic section of road.
- CLOSED – Lovejoy Road – The bridge abutment had significant scouring that will require a new abutment and increased span. Planned start of construction is estimated to begin in May 2012.
- Carpenter Recreation Field – The Royalton Recreation Commission has achieved a great deal of the removal of sediment on the fields through tremendous support from volunteers. Many thanks to the countless individuals who made this possible. The next step is to work with the engineering firm that the town has contracted with to develop a reconstruction plan. No estimated time has been provided for the beginning of the next stage of reclaiming our recreation fields.
