Special Meeting

August 14, 2018

 The legal voters of Royalton Fire District #1, Vermont, are notified and warned to meet at the White River Valley School Royalton Campus Cafeteria, 223 South Windsor St., South Royalton, Vermont on Tuesday, August 14, 2018 between the hours of 9 a.m. and 7 p.m. at which time polls will close, to vote by Australian ballot upon the following Article of business:

Article 1

Shall general obligation bonds or notes of Royalton Fire District No. 1 in amount not to exceed Two Hundred Seventy Thousand Dollars ($270,000), subject to reduction from available state and federal construction grants-in-aid and other financial assistance, be issued for the purpose of reconstructing and repairing the Lake John Dam which constitutes the Fire District’s secondary water supply source, such improvements estimated to cost Two Hundred Seventy Thousand Dollars ($270,000)?

The legal voters and residents of Royalton Fire District No. 1 are further warned and notified that an informational hearing will be held at the Royalton Academy Building, 4182 Vt. Rt 14, South Royalton on August 8, 2018 commencing at 7 p.m. for the purpose of explaining the subject proposed water system improvements and financing thereof.

Legal copies of the above notification are posted at the Royalton Fire District #1 office, Town Clerk’s Office, S. Royalton Post Office, Royalton Academy Building, and the Royalton Library.You may view a digital copy of this notice by clicking here.

The Royalton Fire District #1 Prudential Committee is searching for Community members to serve.  Member will play a pivotal role in financial & business management of South Royalton Water, Fire & Rescue Departments.   Interested parties must live within the District boundaries.  An annual stipend is paid.  Please call the office at 763-8974 for more information or to apply.

BOARD MEETINGS

Regular meetings of the Advisory Board are held at the Royalton Town Offices on the second and fourth Wednesday of each month, starting at 5:30 pm.

Becky Owens of Sharon is the Deputy Administrator for the Rescue Squad. Paul Brock is Fire Chief/Chief Engineer of the District, and Wayne Manning of Royalton is our Water Administrator. Our Administrative Assistant/Bookkeeper is Victoria Paquin.

Meetings of the Prudential Committee are held the second and fourth Wednesdays of every month.  They are held at the Royalton Fire District #1’s office on North Street at 7 pm.  Public walk-ins are welcomed, however, to optimize your visit it is best to advise the Committee of the reason for your visit beforehand.
